Le Fornaci hails from Lugana, a trendy, growing appellation on the southern shores of Lake Garda. Tommasi has long owned an estate in the village of San Martino della Battaglia, where they produce elegant white wines made from the indigenous and largely unknown Turbiana grape. In the unique clay-rich soils and moderate climate of Lugana, the variety yields full-flavored wines with citrusy flavors and high acidity, capable of aging for more than a decade.
Tommasi has proudly presided over Italy’s Veneto region for over 120 years, with wines that are both renowned for their superior quality and consistently regarded as reference points for their respective appellations. Established in 1902, the Tommasi estate was a driving force behind the development of the wine industry in the Veneto and continues to work tirelessly to promote the unique characteristics of the region’s grape varieties.
Tasting notes: The nose it is fruity and fragrant, with notes of tropical fruit and grapefruit. The taste is dry and harmonious and it has an elegant freshness. The wine is intense, persistent and mineral with a pleasant hint of almond on the finish.
Pairs well with: Ideal as an aperitif, with appetizers and finger food, it enhances preparations based on lake and sea fish. Excellent with savory first courses, risotto, delicate meats and with fresh cheeses.
