Ruffino Modus Primo Toscana IGT Italian Red Wine is the evolution of Modus, showcasing quality fruit from three Tuscan vineyards on Ruffino's Poggio Casciano Estate, each one representing the best that this centuries-old wine region terroir has to offer. This Ruffino wine opens with a bouquet of ripe cherries and orange zest, followed by layered balsamic notes and spicy hints of sweet tobacco and vanilla. Distinctive notes of blackberry, Tuscan herbs, and chocolate are featured in each sip of this delicious red wine. Crafted with silky and aromatic merlot from Poggio al Mandorlo, Italian sangiovese from Robbia, and powerful and intense cabernet sauvignon from Lonchio Nord, this red wine blend is fermented and then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels followed by three months of additional bottle aging prior to release. Sangiovese's natural acidity and elegance are balanced by the structure and backbone of merlot and cabernet sauvignon in this Italian wine, which artfully weaves together all three varietals for a silky, layered, full-bodied dark red blend wine.
