La Spinetta Barbaresco Valeirano

La Spinetta Valeirano vineyard Barbaresco comes from a 3 hectare vineyard Tresio.. The vines are 35-45 years old and grow on calcareous soil at 450 meters above sea level, at a southern exposure. Harvest usually happens in the first or second week in October, after which time, the grapes are fermented in rotofermenters for 7 to 8 days. The wine then ages for 20-22 months in new, medium toasted, French oak barrique. Malolactic fermentation takes place in the barrique. Valeirano Barbaresco is then aged for another year in bottle before its release. The wine is not filtered of clarified.
